Australia Visa Fees 2026: Work, Student, Partner and Visitor
Australian visa prices are built from a base application charge for the main applicant and a separate charge for each family member, and for some visas a further charge when you apply from inside Australia. This page lists the current charges for the visas people ask about most, read from the Department of Home Affairs pricing table on 13 October 2026.
Quick answer
In October 2026 an Australian visitor visa (subclass 600, tourist stream) costs AUD 250 from outside Australia. A Student visa (subclass 500) costs AUD 2,500. A Working Holiday visa costs AUD 840 for the first visa. The employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) costs AUD 4,015, and permanent skilled visas cost AUD 6,135 to AUD 6,140. A Temporary Graduate visa costs AUD 5,750 and a Partner visa AUD 11,710. Each additional adult and child on the application pays a separate, usually lower, charge. All amounts are in Australian dollars and are the base application charge.
How Australian visa charges work
- Base application charge: what the main applicant pays.
- Additional applicant charge: a separate amount for each family member on the application, with one rate for people aged 18 and over and another for those under 18.
- Subsequent temporary application charge: AUD 700, listed against some temporary visas. Home Affairs explains on its application charges pages who has to pay it.
Home Affairs notes that a lower cost may apply to eligible citizens of a Pacific Island country, Timor-Leste or an ASEAN member country, and that its Visa Pricing Estimator works out the cost for your situation.
